Spectrum, my queer and trans portrait project has been accepted for Artprize 2014! This means I get to show off your lovely faces and spread the word about you to even more people!
BAD NEWS TIME!
I got a much much much smaller venue than the first showing, so I am only able to show about 20 portraits. However, I will reuse some of the original portraits that artisitcally the strongest, and will use some new faces that I didn’t have time to draw last time! I will be emailing everyone I draw a drop box link containing ALL the portraits. I’m very sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to the participants, I have a million things that have been keeping me busy and exhausted, but you all helped me out so much, there’s really no excuse.
If you want to participate in the project, AND YOU MUST BE QUEER OR TRANS please email me a CLEAR PHOTO OF YOU MAKING A STRANGE FACE, I’m trying to make it as interesting and fun to look at as possible, that entices people to come look at it, and then read the statements, (the important part) as well as A SENTENCE SOMEONE SAYS TO YOU IN REGARDS TO YOUR INDENTITY THAT HURTS YOU. TO: RAYNEKLAR@GMAIL.COM
I can’t stress this enough, not every photo will be used, but I appreciate every single one. These will be hung in public, and hundreds if not thousands of people will see them, so if that makes you uncomfortable, DON’T SEND A PHOTO. I will be choosing photos that are interesting to look at visually, as well as represent a wide range of gender and race.
Thank you all again!
